Haridopolos Hails Florida Schools' Top-Five Score in National Survey
Senate President Mike Haridopolos on Tuesday applauded Florida schools for rising in the national rankings.
Parents, students and educators should be proud of Floridas No. 5 overall ranking, according to Education Weeks annual state grade. This achievement validates not only the hard work performed by students and teachers, but shows the education reforms adopted by the Legislature are working," the Merritt Island Republican said.
The independent, nonpartisan analysis conducted by Education Week shows Florida has a high-performance education system with impressive results from our students and teachers.We outperform the national average in four of the six categories reviewed by Education Week, with our standards, assessments and accountability ranking highest.
"As an educator myself, I am committed to a strong education system in Florida. Moving forward, well continue to provide students with sound, innovative education policies that give them the skills that they need to compete in the global work force."
