Happy Easter, from Ann and Rick Scott

Gov. and Mrs. Rick Scott expressed their Easter good wishes Friday in the following statement:

Ann and I join Christians throughout our state in celebrating the Easter holiday this weekend. As we celebrate our salvation and honor the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, we are reminded of the many blessings we have as Floridians and Americans.

We are especially grateful that more people in our state are getting back to work. While unemployment is the lowest it has been in three years, it is important for us to remember that many families are still struggling and to lend a helping hand whenever and wherever we can.

Ann and I, along with Lieutenant Governor Jennifer Carroll, also invite you to join us in praying for the men and women of the armed forces and the Florida National Guard who are fighting to defend the cause of freedom around the globe. We pray for their safety and for their families, recognizing they are unable to be together during this Easter holiday.

For families throughout Florida who are celebrating during this Easter weekend, I extend best wishes for a joyous and happy Easter from both my family and from Lieutenant Governor Carrolls family.
