Gus Bilirakis: VA Needs to Embrace New Technology

The U.S. House Veterans’ Affairs Committee’s Subcommittee on Health held a roundtable on Tuesday and a Florida congressman made the case for the VA to embrace new technology, some of which was showcased at the event. 

  “This roundtable helped us better understand the many ways veterans can take advantage of recent advances in technology,” said U.S. Rep. Gus Bilirakis, R-Fla., the vice-chairman of the Veterans Affairs Committee. “I am grateful for all of our participants, especially GetWell Network from my home district. Your input today will help shape our policies in the future to ensure we encourage innovation and help boost our economy all while improving veteran care.

“This is an exciting time in medicine and rehabilitation technology,” Bilirakis added. “We must work to bring our laws up to speed with these advances. I look forward to continuing our efforts to help innovative companies provide tools to help our veterans receive the care they deserve.”
