Gus Bilirakis Shows Off His Conservative Side

On a busy Thursday in Washington, Florida Republican U.S. Rep. Gus Bilirakis was able to show off his conservatism.

Bilirakis praised the Pledge to America backed by his fellow House Republicans.

People are concerned with the direction this country has been headed, Bilirakis said. Washington has ignored the voice of the American people and pushed through an agenda that grows the size of the government and the national debt. This pledge shows that House Republicans and I are committed to creating jobs, reigning in spending, fixing a dysfunctional Congress, keeping America safe, and offering affordable health-care solutions. Americans have spoken out and we are listening.

Bilirakis received two awards on Thursday which added to his conservative credentials. The congressman was named a Tax Fighter by the National Tax Limitation Committee and a Guardian of Small Business by the National Federation of Independent Business.
