Gus Bilirakis Cheers Bill Consolidating VA Services in Pasco County
The U.S. House voted on Tuesday to pass a bill consolidating federal Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) medical facility leases, including in Pasco County. The bill won the support of U.S. Rep. Gus Bilirakis, R-Fla., the vice chairman of the House Veterans Affairs Committee.
Todays vote is a win for all veterans, especially those living in and around the Tampa Bay area, said Bilirakis. This legislation will not only increase veterans access to quality care, but also make it more convenient for veterans to receive the care they need. In Pasco County alone, this bill will enable the five existing clinics that are strained and spread out across the Tampa Bay area to consolidate into a convenient, one-stop facility that will serve all veterans medical needs. I urge my colleagues in the Senate to take swift action in passing HR 3521 and for the president to sign this legislation into law, so the VA can continue to provide quality care to our veterans.
