Gus Bilirakis: Another Broken Promise as Obamacare Funds Abortion

With the Government Accountability Office (GAO) releasing a report this week which showed President Barack Obamas federal health-care law allowed public funds to go toward elective abortions, U.S. Rep. Gus Bilirakis, R-Fla., slammed the news, saying it was the latest in a series of broken promises on the law.

Five years ago, the president spoke before Congress about his health care law and said under our plan, no federal dollars will be used to fund abortions, and federal conscience laws will remain in place. Like so many other things in the presidents health-care law, it turns out this statement is just another broken promise, Bilirakis said on Tuesday. Republicans and Democrats have come together for years, believing that taxpayer dollars should not fund elective abortion. This is another example of the presidents disregard for taxpayer dollars and provisions in his own signature piece of legislation.
