Gun-Control Dilemma Hits Democrats Again

Politico offered an interesting piece on Tuesday, arguing that the Democrats may be the biggest winner in the Supreme Court decision striking down local gun-control measures. Kasie Hunt argued in the article that Democrats may benefit from having the issue off the table.

Hunt certainly has a point and Floridians remain very wary of gun control. Democrats running for statewide office in Florida have to be very careful on these issues. The most prominent example of this in the 2010 session was when the two Democratic candidates for attorney general, Dan Gelber of Miami Beach and Dave Aronberg of Greenacres, voted with the Republican majority in the Senate to keep the states hands off the concealed guns trust fund.
