Greer Lawyers Cancel Depositions of State Rep. Dean Cannon, Sen. Haridopolos
Lawyers for former Republican Party of Florida Chairman Jim Greer cancelled the depositions of State Rep. Dean Cannon, R-Winter Park, and Sen. Mike Haridopolos, R-Merritt Island. The legislators were scheduled to give testimony Monday regarding a contentious severance package for Greer, who is currently under a grand jury indictment for grand theft, organized fraud and money laundering, for essentially embezzling RPOF funds.
Cannon, the incoming speaker of the Florida House, and Haridopolos, the Florida Senate president-designate, are supposed to have signed the severance agreement, which would have paid Greer $123,000.
According to Ryan Wiggins, spokesperson for the attorney general's office, Greer's lawyers cancelled both depositions but did not give a reason why they were cancelled.
