Gov. Scott Staffer Dempsey Heading to Enterprise Florida
Hayden Dempsey, an adviser to Gov. Rick Scott on legislative affairs and policy development, is leaving the governor's office to join the board of Enterprise Florida.
Dempsey submitted a resignation letter to the governor, and is effective Aug. 12. Jon Costello, who currently serves as Scott's legislative affairs director, will take over Dempsey's role.
"It has been an honor serving Governor Scott and the citizens of the state of Florida. Governor Scott's unrelenting focus on job creation, economic development, education, and reducing government spending will continue to make Florida the leading state in the Union in which to work and live," Dempsey said.
Moving over to Florida's economic development arm, Dempsey will still be working with the "jobs governor."
"Job creation and economic development are my No. 1 priorities, and I am pleased that Hayden has agreed to continue helping me to achieve those goals," Scott said.
