Gov. Rick Scott has appointed former state Rep. Tom Grady as commissioner of the Office of Financial Regulation.
Grady, a former lawyer and stockbroker, served in the Florida House from 2008 to 2010, but did not seek re-election. He was not only Scott's representative, but lives on the same street as Scott in Naples.
I can think of no better person to serve as Floridas financial regulation commissioner. Tom has been centrally involved with the finance and banking industry for nearly three decades and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this post. In addition, he has demonstrated a high standard of integrity in all he has done and holds a deep commitment to serving the people of Florida," Scott said.
