Gov. Scott Applauds More States Joining Health Care Lawsuit
Gov. Rick Scott spoke out in praise of the six states -- Iowa, Ohio, Kansas, Wyoming, Wisconsin and Maine -- that are joining Florida's lawsuit against the federal health-care law passed last year. Attorney General Pam Bondi filed a motion earlier Tuesday to add the states to the suit.
Here's the governor's statement:
The addition of six new states to Floridas federal health-care lawsuit speaks volumes about the detrimental impact of Obamacare at both the state and national level. Thanks to the effort of Attorney General Bondi and her predecessor, the majority of states are now unified in opposition to this federal health-care takeover. Floridians can be proud that General Bondi picked up the mantle to challenge this unconstitutional law. Not only does Obamacare threaten our freedom, it will mandate an expansion of Medicaid that threatens Floridas fiscal well-being," Scott said.
Bondi's "predecessor," of course, is Bill McCollum, Scott's Republican primary opponent.
