Gov. Rick Scott to Embark on 'Sunshine Tour' to Promote Tourism

Gov. Rick Scott will kick off a "Share a Little Sunshine Tour" of some of the areas hit hardest by the nation's cold winter this year, to promote tourism in Florida.

Scott will hold a rally Tuesday at the University of Central Florida's Rosen School of Hospitality Management, along with VISIT FLORIDA, Visit Orlando, and the Partnership for Florida's Tourism, before heading to Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, New York and Chicago later in the week.

Jobs and economic development are two of the most important issues we face as a state and a nation. Tourism is an important economic engine for Florida and employs nearly 1 million residents, I am proud to lead VISIT FLORIDAs 'Share a Little Sunshine' campaign to bring more visitors to the Sunshine State. We know that every 85 visitors create one Florida job, so I urge all Floridians to join with me in supporting this effort to increase jobs and grow the states economy," Scott said.
