GOP U.S. Senate Candidate Mirand Sharma Really Likes Ron Paul

Add one more name to the increasingly crowded field in the Republican primary looking to take on Democratic U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson. Dr. Mirand Sharma, who has been active in the Campaign for Liberty, has launched a bid for the Republican nod.

Sharma is trying to wrap himself around Texas Republican U.S. Rep. Ron Paul -- no surprise considering the Campaign for Liberty is closely affiliated with the congressman. Even Sharmas attempts to recruit campaign staff refer to Paul. Looking for liberty minded conservatives (who like Ron Paul) who are interested in starting and working with me in my campaign for U.S. Senate representing Florida, notes an ad the Sharma campaign has posted. Sharma also seems to be active in the online libertarian community based on his assorted posts and musings.

Paul -- who announced earlier in the week that he was launching an exploratory committee that sets the stage for his third bid for the presidency -- placed a distant fifth in the 2008 Republican presidential primary in Florida, taking 3 percent of the vote.
