GOP Spanish Ad Attacks Alan Grayson; He Calls It 'Demented'
A YouTube video running in Spanish, with English subtitles, attempts to tie former Democratic Rep. Alan Grayson to Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger and the promotion of eugenics.
Narrating a portion of the ad, Republican congressional candidate Mark Oxner says Sanger "advocated eugenics and abortion to prevent the 'wrong kind' of people from having children" -- a statement that prompts Oxner's wife to respond:
"Senor Grayson, there is no such thing as 'wrong' people, just wrong ideas."
Grayson, who is seeking a return to Washington via the "Latino Access" seat created in the 9th Congressional District, dismissed Oxner's ad as "clearly demented."
"Oxner is really just taking the right-wings strategy of making outrageous, fictitious claims to its logical conclusion. They've proven time and again that they will say any type of lie or outrageous statement if they think it will win elections. People want honesty and discussion, not lies and distortion.
Mark Oxner will discover what Rick Santorum already has learned the hard way: This election is about jobs, the economy, health care and education, not birth control.
