Toward the end of last week, some of the Republican hopefuls looking to challenge Democrat U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson in 2012 released their fundraising totals for the third quarter of 2011.
Former state House Majority Leader Adam Hasner announced that his camp had brought in $535,000 in the third quarter of 2011 and had $786,000 in the bank. Former U.S. Sen. George LeMieux reeled in almost $403,000 and had more than $1 million on hand. Central Florida businessman Craig Miller raised $226,000 and kept $145,000. Retired Army officer and businessman Mike McCalister has not yet announced his figures for the quarter.
Nelson raised $1.9 million in that period -- and has around $7.5 million in the bank.
