GOP Candidates Drill Barack Obama's 'Irrational' Energy Policies
Newt Gingrich called President Obama's opposition to the Keystone pipeline "utterly irrational."
Citing a loss of U.S. jobs amid turmoil in the oil-rich Mideast, the former House speaker said the president's policy weakens the economy and makes America more vulnerable across the globe.
Michele Bachmann was asked what would be an acceptable drilling moratorium in the event of another BP-type oil spill.
The congresswoman said the decision would depend on the causes of the accident, and accused Obama of acting precipitously in shutting down offshore drilling in the Gulf.
"He jumped to conclusions that hurt the economy more than the original disaster," she said.
If president, she said she would put Keystone online "immediately."
