Golf Channel Expands in Orlando, Creating 75 Jobs

On Tuesday, Gov. Rick Scott announced the Golf Channel is expanding in Orlando, creating 75 jobs and adding $1.9 million to the economy.

Today's expansion is great news for Florida families, Scott said. Florida is the top destination for golf and it only makes sense that the Golf Channel chose Florida for their expansion. Were working to ensure that a job is available to every Floridian who wants one, and weve created more than 333,000 private-sector jobs since December 2010. With Florida continuing to stay below the national average for unemployment, its working in Florida.

The state of Florida, metro Orlando area, Mayor Dyer and the City Council have all been excellent partners in our continued success as the fastest-growing television network in the U.S. and building our digital businesses like GolfNow, said Mike McClarley, the president of the Golf Channel. Orlando, a tent pole in the world of golf and Golf Channels home since it was launched by co-founder Arnold Palmer 18 years ago, is a pro-growth and pro-business environment that is ripe with a talented workforce, which has helped Golf Channel deliver world-class, high-quality golf content across all our platforms to a global audience.
