George LeMieux Marks 6 Months of Obamacare by Bashing It

Republican U.S. Sen. George LeMieux marked the six-month anniversary of the passage of new federal health-care laws backed by President Barack Obama by attacking the new measures.

This health care reform bill continues to be as unpopular among the American people as it was the day it was signed into law, said LeMieux. Six months into implementation and our fears of the negative effects this bill will have on our health care system have been confirmed. We can expect an overall increase in health care spending, health insurance premiums are already rising, and Medicare will still be cut by hundreds of billions of dollars. In addition, there are still more than half a trillion dollars in tax increases of which small businesses will face a disproportionate share. It is clear that this doesnt lower the cost of health care for Americans and we need a new approach. Congress instead should be working in a bipartisan fashion, using a targeted, step-by-step approach to truly improve our health care system.
