George LeMieux Links Barack Obama to Bill Nelson
Former U.S. Sen. George LeMieux took aim at President Barack Obama and Democrat U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson on Wednesday when he weighed in on Obamas talk at Walt Disney World on Thursday -- which Nelson will be skipping. LeMieux is running for the Republican nomination to challenge Nelson in November.
People usually visit Disney World with their friends, but it appears the president will be lonely in the Magic Kingdom tomorrow, LeMieux said in a statement. Bill Nelson, Floridas top Democrat and resident of Central Florida, decided not to appear with the president in hopes he can paint himself as independent in the upcoming election. This is going to prove a difficult task, since Nelson voted with President Obama over 97 percent of the time, including supporting Dodd-Frank and Obamacare. To convince voters he is not an Obama-liberal, Nelson is going to need all the Disney magic he can get.
Keep an eye on Sunshine State News on Thursday morning when we unveil a poll looking at the Republican primary to challenge Nelson.
