Former U.S. Sen. George LeMieux, now in a crowded Republican primary to take on Democratic incumbent U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson, issued a statement on Thursday regarding the death of former Libyan strongman Moammar Gadhafi.
The death of Moammar Gadhafi is a victory for free people throughout the world, said LeMieux. While serving on the U.S. Senate Armed Services Committee, I gained insight into the terrorist regime Gadhafi led for more than 40 years. Gadhafi not only repressed, tortured and killed his own people, but was responsible for the deaths of nearly 200 Americans aboard Pan Am Flight 103. The Mad Dog of the Middle East' is dead and people across the world can sleep a little easier tonight.
