George LeMieux Calls Out Harry Reid and Bill Nelson
Former U.S. Sen. George LeMieux, now running in a crowded Republican primary to take on Democratic U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson in 2012, called on the incumbent to reject comments by Senate Majority leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., that private-sector jobs were doing fine but public-sector jobs were in bad shape.
Harry Reid stepped onto the Senate floor today, advocating for more failed stimulus spending, said LeMieux in a statement. Clearly, the Democrats need to learn what the American people already know: the private sector, not big government, creates jobs for unemployed Americans. Bill Nelson needs to denounce Harry Reids confused economic policies and stand up for the true job creators in this country.
LeMieux pointed to the economic plan he introduced last week which he has dubbed the Four Freedoms Plan which, he insists, will reduce the debt.
America needs legislation like my Four Freedoms Plan that will boost the economy and get Americans back to work, not more failed stimulus spending that proves time and time again to do nothing but add to our nations ever-growing debt, said LeMieux. To save America, we must end Harry Reids reign in the U.S. Senate and replace Bill Nelson with a proven conservative who has a real plan to help unemployed Floridians.
