George LeMieux Bemoans Lack of Leadership on Shutdown

Former U.S. Sen. George LeMieux offered his thoughts on the federal shutdown on Tuesday.

Once again, lawmakers in Washington, D.C., are demonstrating the need for better leadership at the highest levels of government, LeMieux wrote supporters on Tuesday. The frequency of partisan standoffs is increasing, our national debt continues to grow, and government crises over spending and debt are worsening with no real solutions on the horizon. Washington is beyond broken; it is chronically dysfunctional."

LeMieux tabbed the problems in Washington as the underlying reason ... why I formed the LeMieux Center for Public Policy at Palm Beach Atlantic University.

We must teach our young men and women to be better leaders, LeMieux insisted. The LeMieux Center promotes the theory that public service means working toward solutions founded in the same spirit as the birth of our country, with an eye toward making our nation stronger for future generations.
