Gayle Harrell Will Run for Florida House, Not Congress in 2014

Florida Rep. Gayle Harrell, R-Stuart, announced on Tuesday that she would run again for the Florida House and not run in the Republican primary to challenge U.S. Rep. Patrick Murphy, D-Fla.

"After much prayer and thoughtful conversation with James,? ?my wonderful husband of? ?48? ?years,? ?my family and friends,? ?I have decided to seek re-election to the Florida House of Representatives,? ?District ?83,??Harrell said. ??Thank you to those who encouraged me to run for the U.S.? ?Congress.? ?Your faith and belief in me is truly humbling.? ?However,? ?I believe Tallahassee is where I will have the biggest impact and make the most difference for you and our community.

??In these tough economic times,? ?a strong voice in Tallahassee is more necessary than ever, she added.
