Gators Land in AP Poll Top 10 -- That's Basketball, Of Course

With the mediocre performance on the gridiron this season, a frustrated Gator Nation has started turning its sights to Billy Ball for relief, and Thursday some good news came as Billy Donovans men's basketball team landed in the AP polls preseason top 10.

The University of Florida was the only Florida school to crawl into the AP NCAA top 20. Another Southeastern Conference team, which the No. 10 Gators will face in league play on Feb. 15, took the top spot: the Kentucky Wildcats.

In the Coaches Poll, which was revealed Oct. 17, the Gators were ranked two spots higher, at No. 8.

Florida will play Florida Southern in a friendly Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. in Gainesville. The mens basketball team's first regular season opponent, North Florida, will follow on Saturday, also at home, before they travel to face the No. 20 Wisconsin Badgers at the Kohl Center in Madison.
