Gary Johnson Launches Presidential Bid

Former Gov. Gary Johnson of New Mexico announced on Thursday that he intended to seek the Republican presidential nomination. Johnson, who served two terms as governor, won national attention during his tenure in office for calling for the legalization of marijuana .

It is with great excitement that I announce my candidacy for president, noted Johnson on Thursday. America needs someone who will say 'no' to the insane spending and stop the madness that has become Washington. It is time we put one of our own in the White House. I have the qualifications, the ability and the know-how to do the job.
