FTC Backs More IT Investments, Cybersecurity
With the Florida Legislature ready to start its session, the Florida Technology Council (FTC) today unveiled its legislative priorities on Tuesday morning.
“The Florida Technology Council and our membership are pleased to announce our 2016 legislative priorities,” said FTC Chair Vivian Myrtetus. “From improving procurement practices to enhancing cyber security, our policymakers have the opportunity to modernize Florida’s IT infrastructure and take advantage of technology to make our state operate more efficiently. We look forward to working with the Legislature and governor as both advocates and a trusted source of information.”
The FTC is calling for more consolidation and investment in state IT and increasing cybersecurity efforts. The FTC is also backing incentives to lure tech companies to the Sunshine State and backing training efforts for current workers to keep up with changes in technology.
