Freedom PAC Airs ‘Proud’ Message of Connie Mack

A super-PAC backing the Senate run of U.S. Rep. Connie Mack, R-Fort Myers, has started to run a TV ad across Central Florida.

The Freedom PAC spot called Proud, expected to air for about two weeks and with the ad buy in six figures, focuses strictly on Mack and his words.

Macks long-serving opponent, Sen. Bill Nelson, D-Orlando, isnt mentioned in the ad.

The ad comes as Mack now trails Nelson in the latest polls: by 11 percentage points in a SurveyUSA poll released Tuesday; by 7 percentage points according to Public Policy Media results out a week ago.

According to the SurveyUSA results, Mack has work cut out for him across the central part of the state, wherein July he had enjoyed a 5 percentage point advantage over Nelson. In the new numbers, he is now behind by 15 points along I-4. A big part of that is among the I-4 independents, who favor Nelson by 14 percentage points.
