FOP Backs Adam Putnam in Agriculture Race

On Tuesday, Republican U.S. Rep. Adam Putnams staff announced that the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP), Florida State Lodge was backing its candidate to be Floridas next commissioner of agriculture and consumer services. While the FOP backed Putnam for the Republican nomination and former Tallahassee Mayor Scott Maddox for the Democratic nod, the group --which represents more than 20,000 members in Florida -- chose to rally behind Putnam in the general election.

The Fraternal Order of Police looks forward to Adams successful campaign and tenure as commissioner of agriculture, said Florida FOP President James W. Preston. He has gained respect from those in his local community, and his dedication to supporting his fellow Floridians speaks well of his leadership and understanding of what being a representative of his constituents entails. The citizens of Florida will be well-served with the outlook and positive approach he will bring to this office, and we are proud to support him for the general election.

I would like to thank the Fraternal Order of Police for their general election endorsement of my campaign for commissioner of agriculture and consumer services, replied Putnam. Given the selflessness and bravery of these men and women, I am particularly honored to have their support, and I look forward to working beside them in the protection of our state, its citizens, neighborhoods and businesses, as we pave the way for a brighter future for Florida.
