Focusing on His Own Story, Kendrick Meek Launches Third Ad

Trailing behind Jeff Greene in some polls for the Democratic nomination in the U.S. Senate election, U.S. Rep. Kendrick Meek launched a third TV ad -- this time focusing on his own story. In his first two ads, Meek attacked Greene.

With three weeks to go, Meek is increasingly banking on the White House to bail him out. With Democrats increasingly backing independent candidate Gov. Charlie Crist and with a strong chance that Greene defeats Meek, Barack Obama does not seem ready to do the heavy lifting that some Meek backers are demanding. Even a Washington fund-raiser for Meek on Monday night hosted by Rahm Emmanuelhauled in only $50,000 -- chump change in this election.
