Florida TaxWatch Showcases Government Efficiency Task Force Recommendations
On Wednesday, Florida Tax Watch showcased a report from the Government Efficiency Task Force (GETF) produced at the end of last week with recommendations for the Florida Legislature.
The report calls for the state government to use a new accounting system and tackles other topics including telehealth and sentencing reform for some non-violent offenders.
“Taxpayers deserve a government that works efficiently and effectively,” said Dominic Calabro, the president and CEO of Florida TaxWatch who serves on the GETF, on Wednesday. “The Legislature could make a significant achievement if they follow the Government Efficiency Task Force recommendations in making our state government work more efficiently for the taxpayers.
“The savings realized by implementing these recommendations could be reinvested in our children’s education, our infrastructure, tax cuts, economic development and other areas to improve our state’s economy,” Calabro added.
