Florida TaxWatch Praises Rick Scott's Proposed Budget

Florida TaxWatch weighed in on Monday morning, praising Gov. Rick Scotts proposed $74.2 billion proposed budget.

"I commend Governor Scott for including many cost-savings recommendations from Florida TaxWatch," said Dominic Calabro, the president and CEO of Florida TaxWatch. "By increasing efficiency in state government and offering significant tax cuts, this budget shows his commitment to Florida taxpayers."

Calabro pointed toward recommendations from Florida TaxWatch included in Scotts proposal, including creating the Agency for State Technology to handle IT issues for the state government, reforming state employee health insurance and monitoring more nonviolent prisoners electronically.
