Florida TaxWatch Looks at Research's Role in State Economy

Florida TaxWatch highlighted the role of the Florida Institute for the Commercialization of Public Research as well as universities to promote new technology and businesses in the Sunshine State.

"Connecting our state's start-up companies with the resources they need to succeed will better ensure Florida businesses continue to develop new technologies and capitalize on products invented in the state," said Dominic Calabro, the president and CEO of Florida TaxWatch, on Thursday.

According to a report from Florida TaxWatch, the Florida Institute for the Commercialization of Public Research has helped create 26 companies in Florida since 2007.
