Submitted by Kevin Derby on December 18, 2015 - 10:07am
Florida TaxWatch released a report on Friday which shows state and local governments across the Sunshine State are taking less of a share out of the pockets of Florida residents.
The report notes that state and local governments will pull in $121 billion in the 2015-2016 fiscal year. That represents 13 percent of the personal income of Floridians, a slight drop from last year when government took 13.2 percent of Floridians’ income. The arrow is moving downward. Back in the 2007-2008 fiscal year, government took 15.8 percent of all Floridians’ earnings.
