Florida Political Earthquake: New Poll has Scott Beating McCollum by 13 Points; Greene, Meek Almost Even
Want more proof that Rick Scott and Jeff Greene have shaken up Floridas political landscape?
Look at yet another poll released today from Quinnipiac University. It finds Scott leading Attorney General Bill McCollum in the Republican primary 44 percent to 31 percent -- and has Greene trailing U.S. Rep. Kendrick Meek in the Democratic U.S. Senate primary by a whisker. Meek has 29 percent with Greene at 27 percent, and former Miami Mayor Maurice Ferre trails far behind with 3 percent. Scott and Greene both dumped millions of their considerable fortunes into media campaigns on the Web and over television airwaves -- and its starting to pay political dividends.
Jeff Greene is skyrocketing in the polls, because voters are hungry for an outsider like Jeff Greene who is independent of the special interests and knows how to create jobs and get results," said Paul Blank, the Greene campaign spokesman. "Kendrick Meek is lagging in every poll because voters know Meek is just another failed career politician in the middle of a corruption scandal, who cant win.
