Florida NFIB Confident That Obamacare Will be Rejected
A day after the U.S. Supreme Court concluded its hearings on Obamcare, the National Federation of Independent Business/Florida expressed confidence the law will be thrown out.
"Following three very successful days of oral arguments before the U.S. Supreme Court, we are as confident of our case as we ever have been," said executive director Bill Herrle, whose group joined with Florida and 25 other states in challenging the health-care law.
"When we filed this lawsuit two years ago, some people called it frivolous. But we're convinced the Supreme Court will agree, just as the lower courts did, that the individual mandate, which requires everyone to buy health insurance, is unconstitutional," Herrle said from Tallahassee.
But Herrle said NFIB "isnt looking to take down this law and walk away from the fight."
"This will give Congress the opportunity to do it again and do it right. NFIB stands ready to be a part of that conversation and help find a solution that makes health insurance more accessible and more affordable, and that isnt unconstitutional.
