The Florida Lottery announced record high sales in its last fiscal year. During that time, the lottery generated $5.36 billion in sales and almost $1.5 billion of that went to help Florida schools.
Our primary goal is and always will be to generate as much money as possible for education, said Florida Lottery Secretary Cynthia OConnell on Monday. We set our goals high at the beginning of each year, and with a collective effort from lottery staff, our retailers and our loyal customers, we have once again exceeded our annual sales goal, resulting in record contributions to Floridas student and schools.
