Florida Korean War Vet Honored With Purple Heart After 62 Years

The world just marked the 60th anniversary of the armistice that ended the Korean War, but a veteran from Florida is about to be honored for his service in that conflict. U.S. Rep. Bill Posey, R-Fla., will present the Purple Heart to Frank Trent of Indialantic on Friday.

Mr. Trent is being recognized after all of these years for his courage and his service to our nation during the Korean War, said Posey on Tuesday. Its because of brave Americans like Frank Trent, and those he served with, that our nation and liberties have endured the test of time and can be passed on to future generations.

Trent, who served in the Armys Heavy Tank Company, 15th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division, was wounded on March 24, 1951.
