Florida House Gives Congressional Redistricting Map Final OK

The special session is done.

The Florida House gave final approval Monday to a new congressional redistricting plan, preparing to send the map back to Leon County Circuit Judge Terry Lewis. The House voted 71-38 to approve the map, after the Senate voted 25-12 earlier in the day to pass it. The votes quickly ended the special session, called after Lewis last month ruled that a map approved in 2012 violated anti-gerrymandering requirements in the Florida Constitution.
