Florida House Dems May Have Jumped the Gun on John Patrick Julien's Death

House Democratic Leader Perry Thurston, D-Fort Lauderdale, may have jumped the gun when he announced formerRep. John Patrick Julien, who lost a close battle for a state House seat last year, passed away on Thursday. According to Julien's caretakers, Julien is still alive.

Nadege Green of the Miami Herald took to Twitter Thursday afternoon to announce that Julien's friends and familyat his bedside said he is not doing well, but he is alive.

Thurston announced Thursday that Julien had died and spoke highly of the former state representative. Thurston's statement can be read in the blog below regarding Julien's "passing."
