Florida Highway Patrol Ramping Up Operations for Thanksgiving Holiday and FSU-UF Game

Americans are expected to hit the roads for Thanksgiving holiday this week, ensuring record numbers of travelers across the nation. There will be even more travelers in Florida due to the largest college football rivalry in the state being renewed on Saturday as the Florida State Seminoles head to Gainesville to play the Florida Gators.

On Monday, the Florida Highway Patrol announced it would be monitoring highways across the Sunshine State over the holiday, including bringing up reserve troopers from Thursday until Sunday.

The Florida Highway Patrol will be taking part in Operation CARE (Combined Accident Reduction Effort), a nationwide effort to crack down on speeding, tailgating, aggressive driving and driving under the influence. The Florida Highway Patrol will also be monitoring seatbelt and child safety laws.
