Florida Family Council Kicks Off Voter Registration Drive Aimed at Conservatives

The Florida Family Policy Council, an organization backing traditional positions on social issues and fighting for an active role for churches in the public square, is launching a project to register more voters.

Studies show that thousands of people who regularly attend church and share the values you and I share are not registered to vote, wrote council President John Stemberger to supporters on Wednesday. That means thousands of Floridians who, like you and me, respect the sanctity of life, value religious liberty, and support Gods definition of marriage and family will have no option but to remain silent on Election Day. And their silence could have a major impact in determining the Florida and the America you and I leave for our children and grandchildren.

We have seen the damage to the family and the sanctity of life that can occur when our elected officials abandon campaign promises and moral principles in favor of their political survival, continued Stemberger. Those of us who believe that protecting family, marriage, children and life are important must vote our values. Otherwise, our culture will continue to move rapidly in a direction that does not reflect those values.

The council is launching what they have dubbed Project Active Citizen and will send voter registration kits to churches across Florida hoping this leads to an increased number of faith-based conservatives at the polls.
