Florida Department of Health Sees Leadership Changes

On Wednesday, Dr. John Armstrong, secretary of Health and surgeon general of Florida, named Kim Barnhill as Deputy Secretary for County Health Systems, moving her from her post as chief of staff. Jennifer Tschetter, currently the Department of Healths general counsel, will take Barnhills place as chief of staff. In the meantime, Danny Hernandez, who had been deputy general counsel, will take Tschetters place on an interim basis.

We have tremendous talent in the Florida Department of Health, with public health professionals who epitomize the best of public service, said Armstrong. Kim Barnhill, as a former county health department administrator, has the ideal skillset to support the county health departments in meeting the health needs of Floridas families and visitors, while Jennifer Tschetter brings significant managerial expertise, honed within the state and county health offices, to promote best organizational practices.
