Florida Dems Demand TV Stations Pull Rick Scott Ad

The Florida Democratic Party wants Rick Scott's latest adtaken off the air.

In a letter sent Thursday to 67 television stations across the state, FDP attorney Mark Herron requested the stations refuse to broadcast the ad, which criticizes former Gov. Charlie Crist for describing President Barack Obama's health care plan as "great."

"This advertisement knowingly misleads your viewing audience about the impact of the Affordable Care Act," wrote Herron. "In fact, two of the claims central to the advertisement have been previously reviewed by PolitiFact and were determined to be 'mostly false.'"

The video reported that news outlets had saidthat Obamacare will drive 2.5 million Americans out of the workforce and that300,000 Floridians would lose their health coverage because of Obamacare.

"As a responsible media source, it is your duty to ensure that this type of advertising does not contain patently false information," wrote Herron. "The FDP would strongly urge you to refrain from airing this advertisement. Absent a showing of proof, this political advertisement should not be allowed to air."
