Florida Congressional Races Getting National Attention

Nathan Gonzales over at Roll Call placed a congressional race in North Florida as one of the Top 5 Races to Watch in the South.

Looking at the battle brewing in the Big Bend, Gonzales made U.S. Rep. Steve Southerland a slight favorite over potential Democratic challenger Gwen Graham.

Democrats are excited about their chosen candidate Gwen Graham, daughter of former governor and former Sen. Bob Graham, Gonzales wrote. But she may have a primary with 2012 nominee Al Lawson. And GOP Rep. Steve Southerland II wont be easy to defeat in the general election in this polarizing district. Rothenberg Political Report/Roll Call Rating: Lean Republican.

While they did not make the top five, Gonzales also mentioned two other congressional races, listing Democratic freshmen U.S. Rep. Patrick Murphys and U.S. Rep. Joe Garcias bids for another term as critical House races.
