Florida Catholic Conference Honors Ronda Storms and Dennis Baxley for Opposing Abortion
On Wednesday, the Florida Catholic Conference presented two Republicans in the Legislature -- Sen. Ronda Storms of Bradenton and Rep. Dennis Baxley of Ocala -- with the Defensor Vitae (Defender of Life) Awards. The conference praised Storms for backing parental notice for teens considering abortion and for sponsoring a bill requiring ultrasounds for mothers considering abortions.
Senator Storms says she has three priorities in life: love the Lord, love her family and stay true to the purposes for which she committed when elected, said Sheila Hopkins of the Florida Catholic Conference.
The conference honored Baxleys support of Choose Life license plates and for backing a proposed constitutional amendment to oppose taxpayer funding of abortion in the Sunshine State that Floridians will vote on in November.
Representative Baxley is a great source of support, encouragement and practical wisdom to his pro-life colleagues in the Legislature, said Michael Sheedy of the Florida Catholic Conference.
