Florida Announces Online Job Postings Up 15 Percent in September

A day after highlighting that openings in STEM related jobs in Florida are up online, the Governors Office noted that the number of positions to be filled have grown 15.1 percent in the past year.

A release from the state Department of Economic Opportunity, emailed out from the Governors Office on Wednesday, noted that there were 368,575 jobs posted online in September, up 35,277 from the same period in 2011.

This increase shows that more employers are seeing positive improvements in their business, are eager to expand, and need the skilled and talented workforce that Florida can provide them, Scott stated in a release.

The majority of work was tied to healthcare, office and administrative support, computer and mathematical occupations.
