Is First Lady Out of Her Gourd? She Pushes Salad Bars for Kids in Miami
First lady Michelle Obama talked up healthy food choices at Riverside Elementary School in Miami on Monday.
"We have with us representatives from the National Fruit and Vegetable Alliance, from the Food, Family, Farming Foundation, and from the United Fresh Produce Association. And together this team of wonderful people have put together something called Lets Move Salad Bars To Schools. You hear that? Lets Move Salad Bars To Schools. Pretty good, right?" she coaxed the kids.
Mrs. Obama, who has planted a vegetable garden at the White House, wants to bring salad bars to 6,000 school cafeterias across the country.
"And you guys here at Riverside are the first school in the entire country to get one," she said to applause. "See, kids excited about vegetables and salad bars. I want the world to know.We can do this."
