Feeling the Squeeze from the RPOF, GOP House Candidate Ann Yarko Fights Back

With Kirk Headley-Perdue getting the backing of the Republican Party of Florida to the tune of more than $28,000, her opponent in the Republican primary for the House seat currently held by Rep. Michelle Rehwinkel Vasilinda, D-Tallahasse, is up in arms.

"The Republican Party belongs to the Republican voters and not to insiders, staff and consultants, said conservative activist Ann Yarko. "I was stunned when I looked at the reports this week indicating more than $28,000 of monetary endorsement was given to my Republican opponent, during a primary, directly from the Republican Party of Florida."

Yarko said she planned to send a letter to RPOF Chairman Sen. John Thasher, R-Jacksonville, asking for the money to be returned, but she threw a not particularly subtle jab at the way the RPOF was being run.

"With the election of a new administration, I thought we had turned a page on RPOF's sordid history of picking winners and losers in primaries, said Yarko. Clearly, this is the same old Republican Party that existed under Jim Greer."

Yarko also took aim at Headley-Perdue, saying she was not that much different from the Democrats.

"I ran in this race from day one to offer a fresh voice and a real choice to the voters of District 9, she said. The voters deserve more than an establishment-backed RINO who provides little contrast to the progressive Democratic rivals. Regardless of whether the party makes the right decision to recall their monetary endorsement or not, I will continue to give voters a real choice right up to Aug. 24.

The RPOF clearly wants Yarko to go away, and she clearly has no intention of going quietly into the night.
