Enterprise Florida Looks to Build Business Ties With Honduras
Enterprise Florida, Inc. (EFI) will look to build Florida’s business ties with Honduras in the coming months.
Honduras plays an important role in the Sunshine State’s economy with trade between that nation and Florida leading to almost $4.5 business in 2014. Already Florida’s ninth largest trade partner, Honduras is playing a larger role in the state’s economy with an increase of almost 8 percent in exports to that nation last year and more than 10 percent growth in the first six months of 2015.
EFI will be holding a trade mission to Honduras in early December and will hold workshops in Jacksonville and Orlando on the mission on Wednesday, at the Tampa Chamber of Commerce on Thursday and at Broward College and in Fort Lauderdale on Friday.
EFI will lead three workshops to help companies prepare for the trade mission. The workshops will be held:
Secretary of Commerce Bill Johnson, the president & CEO of EFI, said on Monday this was an excellent opportunity for businesses in the Sunshine State
“The Honduran economy continues to gain ground, providing Florida companies interested in the Central American market a strategic entry point,” Johnson said. “This EFI-led international trip is an excellent way for Florida companies to meet with potential Honduran business partners and establish ties.”
