A bill that would allow the public to have a look at projects that are granted incentives by Florida in return for bringing jobs and economic development to the state cleared the House Transportation and Economic Development Appropriations Subcommittee Tuesday.
HB 563, which was recommended favorably, is one of four measures moving through the Florida Legislature this session that deals with state incentives to private projects. The bill requires the Department of Economic Opportunity to use a state-economic model to analyze the benefits of those projects. It also requires the development of a website where information about the projects will be publicly available.
